8/14/25 West Nile virus has been detected in tested mosquitoes in Hinsdale, Otis and Pittsfield. The recommendation is to wear protective clothing and use EPA approved repellent. The highest times of mosquito activity are dusk and dawn, avoid exposure during those times. No human cases of West Nile virus have been detected at this time but can be very serious in adults over 50.
