Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness (MVP)
Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness (MVP) Planning Meeting
Over the next 6 months (June through December 2026), Peru will be going through the state’s Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness (MVP) planning process. This planning will help the Town identify how Peru is most at risk for climate impacts. When complete, this effort will open the opportunity for up to $3 million in state grant funding for projects identified. Planning efforts are being supported by Berkshire Regional Planning Commission and include two half-day public workshops in early October. These workshops will identify climate will affect Peru specifically and come up with action steps to help Peru better prepare. The final report is expected to be ready for public review November 2026 in which residents will get to weigh in on top priority actions. MVP planning meetings will be open to the public at Town Hall on the second Monday at 10am for any interested and able to attend. If you have any questions about the planning efforts – please contact Courteny Morehouse, the person from BRPC helping us with the plan at 413-442-1521 x26 or cmorehouse@berkshireplanning.org
